Well....we're on our way. Wahoo!!!  Not sure how this trip will end though as we are already into the booze and we haven't even left Kelowna yet!  LOL. Seriously though.....it is a drizzly kind of day and we are checked into our room at the airport in Kelowna.  Lynda left home wearing her pyjama bottoms so....she's already ready for bed tonight.  I know some of you won't believe that she actually decided to travel in her pj's but honestly....it's true!  And actually....her black pj bottoms look an awful lot like my yoga pants so no one will ever know unless someone says something.  Oops!  I guess I just did tell everyone via this blog didn't I?!

How did we get into the booze already you're wondering....there is a little liquor store right beside the hotel and there is ongoing complimentary coffee in the lobby sooooo it didn't take more than a minute to decide it was time for Bailey's and coffee.

Lani and her kids are going to come to the hotel for a quick dip in the pool (with water slide) after school today and then we can have a birthday dinner as both Lani and Kingston will be celebrating birthdays next week and I will miss both of them.  This will be an early birthday party/dinner for them. :)

Thanks Gail for driving us to the airport this afternoon (in your brand new car!!!)  We know how much you love driving (and in the rain to boot!). On the upside it will be a great excuse for you to stop along the way home to do a little shopping.

I think I mentioned that we are only allowed a maximum of 10 kg of luggage per person due to the in country travel will be doing once we arrive in Philippines.  I am happy to report that we both weighed our suitcases and Lynda came in at 19 lbs 8 oz and I came in at 20 lbs 4 oz so we are both within the allowable 22 lbs.  Whew!

Gotta get back to my Bailey's so will sign off for now.  Exactly one month from now we will be back in this same hotel when we return from this amazing adventure.  We are both acknowledging how fortunate we are to be able to do this....yep.....thanks lucky stars....and good job to both of us for planning and saving and being intentional about making our travel dreams come true.

Just back from pool and super fast waterslide where much fun was had.  It was an early birthday party of sorts for Lani and Kingston - happy to have been able to be a part of it.

Early night as wake up call will be at 5:00 a.m. sooooo......good night.
